| May be used as a lawn substitute but does not stand up to foot traffic. Weed suppressing. Plant 9 inches apart for fast fill-in. Spreads by stolons. Spent bloom spikes can be mowed off at high setting. Can be invasive in a flower bed. Varigated forms available. Generally slower growing than green form. Foliage colours best in part shade. Rabbit resistant and will grow under black walnut. Excellent heat resistance, moderate growth rate. |
